Guides and pros depend on us to stay ahead of the pack, and you can go there too.
Think back to first time you had ski boots that really fit well. Maybe you had a new custom insole. Maybe it was a custom liner. Perhaps an expert bootfitter had spent an hour or so reshaping the shell and liner. Suddenly your feet were comfortable and warm. You had more power and control, could begin a turn at will. You skied more runs, got less tired, tackled more difficult terrain with confidence, stayed out later, had more fun.

Wagner Custom skis bring you that experience again – on steroids.

With Wagner Custom, you get skis that flex effortlessly into just the shape of the turn you expect. Instantly, instinctively, without need to plan, set up and execute. Matched to your weight and strength, the ski is more versatile – because it starts at the right flex and shape, it works easily in a wider range of snow conditions and terrain challenges. It holds an edge precisely on hard snow, penetrates smoothly in crud, and rounds out easily in power. You ski with confidence, power and joy.

Like a custom boot, your Wagner Custom skis have adapted to you. There’s no learning curve while you adapt to a ski. It’s an instant match.

Wagner Custom guarantees you’ll love your new skis – already optimized for flex distribution, sidecut shape and width, weight, float, “pop” and glide speed.

Over the company’s seven years in business, the Skier DNA design process has created and shipped more than 5,000 successful designs – each pair a unique creation that worked perfectly right out of the box. Wagner Custom’s guarantee: If you’re not 100% happy, we’ll refund your money or build you another pair. (During 2013, Wagner built more than 1000 pairs, and we were asked to rebuild only three.)

Pete Wagner began his career as a computer scientist. He developed programs to design custom-wound carbon fiber shafts for pro golfers, based on each pro’s unique preferences. In 2000 he decided he’d rather ski than golf, and moved to Telluride. After experiencing disappointment with some mass-produced skis, he realized that skiers individual skiers are not mass-produced, and set out to digitize the design process for custom-built skis.

After experiencing disappointment with some mass-produced skis, he realized that skiers individual skiers are not mass-produced, and set out to digitize the design process for custom-built skis. After much hard work, and 300,000 lines of code, in 2006 he perfected a computer-assisted design and manufacturing package that could optimize shape and flex parameters for any specific skier. The output: instructions to a digital milling machine able to cut all the parts for a ski with such precision that they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Skilled hands assemble these parts to produce perfectly-crafted skis, precisely meeting design goals. Wagner Custom opened that year in a renovated gas station, running entirely on solar and wind energy.
