Four Reasons why you Should be Thinking about Skiing in September

by Wagner Skis / Aug 10, 2023

The sun is beaming, the grass is turning from a green to a crispy yellow, and we're thinking about skiing.

To be fair, we’re always thinking about skiing—we are a ski company, after all —but here’s why you should start thinking about it, too.

1) Early bird gets the ski pass discount!
If you're a resort skier, and especially if you're looking at passes that service multiple mountains, now is the time to snag those early-bird specials. Many have already gone up, so act fast!

2) There's no time like the present to get into skiing shape.
If you're out having fun trail running, hiking, mountain biking, or road biking, you're probably already getting into reasonable shape for skiing. But being a little more intentional in your activities will pay off tenfold. Here are some cross-training tips and here are some more direct ways to train.

3) Planning a ski trip ahead of time gives you something to look forward to.
If you’d like to go someplace a little more far-flung this winter, it’s never too early to start planning. The one downside is that you won’t be able to tell how good the snow will be, but you’ll save tons of money booking far out and won’t have the anxiety of hotels being full. A trip to Europe, especially, requires a lot of planning, so start now.

4) Ordering Wagner Custom Skis takes some time.
Our lead time for custom skis is generally about four weeks, so now is a great time to start your ski-buying process. This is especially true if you are looking for a custom graphic, since deciding what you want on your skis can be the longest part of the process.
