Katsushika Hokusai is one of Japan’s greatest-known artists. His most famous piece is the “Great Wave Off Kanagawa,” from his 36 Views of Mt. Fuji (Fuji-san). Although Fuji-san appears in the background, surprisingly this woodblock is not part of the series and is a lesser-known piece.
