Mashad, situated in Iran's Khorasan Razavi province, is the second-largest city in the country. Known for its rug-making tradition dating back to the 16th century, Mashad rugs are renowned for their intricate designs featuring a central medallion and various floral patterns, birds, and animal motifs.
